A Journey of Passion and Mastery

Yuri's dedication to calligraphy began at a young age. She became a calligraphy master by the age of 24. Her background is as unique as her art; she initially pursued studies in pharmacy and teaching before fully dedicating herself to the timeless art of calligraphy.

"In this day and age, it's easy to express your feelings by typing, but I prefer traditional methods," Yuri shares. "I believe that when I actually write, the energy resides in the words, and we can feel the feelings of the person writing them." This profound connection to the written word is what fuels her passion and dedication to the craft.

"和" (wa), which means "harmony" or "peace." The word "Nagomi" reinforces this meaning, emphasizing the importance of finding harmony and balance in life.

The Art of Traditional Expression

For Yuri, calligraphy is more than just a skill; it's a deeply personal and expressive form of art. She takes immense pride in her work, using the delicate strokes of her brush to convey emotions and stories that transcend the limitations of typed text. Each piece she creates is imbued with her energy and emotion, making her calligraphy a cherished form of communication.

"夢" (yume), which means "dream" in English. This kanji represents dreams, both in the sense of the dreams we have while sleeping and the aspirations or hopes we hold in our hearts.
